Celebrating 75 Years of Maton Guitars
Posted by ROB LAMBERTI
At Infinite Music we love to jam, whether it’s guitar, piano, keyboard or the banjo, we’ve got it covered.
But today we’d like to shine the spotlight on Maton, who are celebrating 75 years of continuous guitar production in Melbourne.
Since conception in 1964, Maton has been manufacturing superbly crafted guitars. They’re known for using a wide range of Australian timbers, such as blackwood, bunya, Queensland Maple, Queensland Walnut and Satin Box.
When you listen to the rich tones of these beautiful, Australian made guitars, you’ll understand why they’re so popular and why they have been around for 75 years. With a diverse range of artists using Maton guitars, such as Tommy Emmanuel, Tash Sultana and Keith Urban you’ll be in good company when rocking out.
Queensland Maple is used in nearly every Maton, and has shaped the sound of these wonderful instruments. This timber from Northern Queensland rainforest hardwood is light, strong and visually striking. It’s well balanced and has an even response across all frequencies.
You can browse our range of Maton guitars online, or even better, come visit our team in store and test the guitars out for yourself.
