Dunlop Cry Baby MR95LTD Mick Ronson Limited Edition Wah

The Mick Ronson Cry Baby Wah taps into the vibrant, melodic character of one of rock 'n' roll's most gifted songwriters with a recreation of his own personal wah pedal. Ronson used the Cry Baby Wah in a fixed position as a tone-shaping filter throughout his work with David Bowie and many others, and legendary producer Bob Rock — a friend and collaborator of Ronson's — loaned Dunlop's engineers Ronson's own early Italian-made Cry Baby Wah so they could study its singular sound. Using a custom inductor that replicates the higher frequency response and subtler peak of the original, along with tightened inductor tolerances, the fast initial sweep of the original potentiometer, and period-accurate low-gain transistors and value-matched resistors, Dunlop's engineers recreated the distinctive EQ curve of Ronson's fixed-wah tone. As producer Bob Rock puts it: "You place the wah, and leave it there, and that's the tone. It's all over every record he ever made, and I've used it on every record since I got it." The pedal is finished with a design inspired by Ronson's work.
