Little Lightning Devices are hand-built in Canberra, Australia, and the SUPER FUZZ is a careful recreation of the classic 1970s Japanese FY-6 fuzz circuit — hugely popular in stoner rock and metal for its huge, octave-tinged doom fuzz tones, and just as at home in classic rock styles. The only major departure from the original design swaps the FY-6's 2-position tone switch for a potentiometer, so Tone now blends continuously between a mid-forward notch voicing and a massive mid-scoop, rather than jumping between the two extremes. Fuzz (labelled 'Expander' on the FY-6) sets the texture and intensity, and Level (labelled 'Balance' on the FY-6) sets output volume. It's a completely analog, true bypass design, hand assembled using through-hole components and measured, matched silicon transistors — not a low-gain device, this is a massive fuzz sound in a compact box.
